I’m a Jesus-follower, God-lover, and writer.
Life can have so many detours and very few good ones. Maybe you’ve taken some yourself: a debilitating illness, a friend’s betrayal, losing a loved one through death or divorce? My books and stories are about finding joy on those back roads.
I’ve been there. In fact, I still am.
I have a chronic illness and for more than a decade, my whole life has been one big detour. There have been days when only God’s love has kept me going.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Did you see it? John 16:33 says, “you will have trouble.” Isn’t that the truth! We’re not promised rose gardens or castles. Life is a long road and it’s easy to get lost. But I do believe in happy endings because I know the One who made me. Eventually, the heroes and heroines in my stories learn to focus on that bright light on the horizon – and on the One who created it.
Remember: those back roads could be a detour or a destination. Put your trust in God with every bit of your being and learn to love your neighbor. Then you’ll find your joy, wherever you are.
